If you’re tired of wallowing in your own misery and self-pity, remember this…
Am I ready for change?
Oh, I’m ready.
Ready for change is an understatement.
I’m ready for an overhaul, except, I already had one and I wasn’t happy with the results. My life was completely overhauled when my husband died, but that wasn’t what I meant when I said I wanted things to change.
You see, there is no quick path to transformation.
That is like going to the 24-hr plastic surgeon for a face lift and expecting to come out looking like Jennifer Aniston circa Friends; The One Where She Gets Pregnant.
It’s just not going to happen. This isn’t your hairdresser we’re talking about. You can’t just take in a picture and a limited amount of time and money and say, I want to look like this….
And honestly, who of us has done that and come out completely unscathed our entire lives? (If you’ve never had a bad haircut, either you had more money than my family did as a kid, you know someone who happens to be very skilled, or you’re lying).
Anyway, change takes time.
And patience.
One single baby-step at a time.
You WILL stumble.
You WILL fall and even slide backwards a little….or a lot.
But if you want that change, you have to work for it.
And in my experience, if it’s easy, it isn’t worth it.
And if it scares you a little?
Keep climbing.
