Do you still love me?

Do you still love me?

After all of the shame and pain I’ve painted on the walls, does it scare you to see me walking the tightrope of life?

Are you afraid that I will fall?

Can you still love me?

Can you show up when it’s hard?

When my words and my actions hold up a mirror to your scars.

There’s nothing wrong with you if you can’t, your courage will come when it’s time.

Because healing is just a choice to face the pain that’s deep inside;

To scrape it out and bring it to the surface and shine a light in its eyes.

And in its place will come love and happiness, beauty and joy, and the ability to show others how to rewrite their own story.

So, if you still love me after all I’ve said and done,

Thank you.

I see you.

You didn’t have to be the one to show up and love me and stand by my side,

But I’m glad that you did. There are no more reasons to hide.

But if you can’t love me fully and stand where it’s bright,

I don’t hate you.

I don’t blame you.
